Part Time Rangers (“PTR”) sells low sugar, premixed spirit RTDs and donates a percentage of profits to conservation charities. PTR launched in July 2018, the proposition resonated with consumers and within two and a half years PTR was one of the top 10 RTD brands in NZ and was acquired by a large American corporate, Brown Forman in December 2020.

Dave and Sarah both partnered with the company pre revenue, making up two thirds of the original advisory board. Dave worked with them from conception to completion of the sale including becoming a Director of the company. Advice provided:

• Led strategic planning

• Developed and evolved the business model to manage growth

• Negotiated distribution and manufacturing agreements

• Implemented management processes (new product development stage gate process, sales and operational planning framework, management prioritisation and board reporting) with a focus on strategy execution and growth management

• Led capital raising process from start to finish

• Partnered with Toby Groser to sell the business in a process that spanned COVID lockdowns and involved multiple international buyers
